Josh, a Tennessee resident with a degree in Communication from Seattle Pacific University, began his insurance career at Allstate, gaining hands-on underwriting experience and advanced training at the company’s national headquarters.   

In 2016, he joined UWIB to lead operations in the Pacific Northwest and later became Co-Founder of UWIB Risk & Insurance Solutions, now headquartered in Franklin, TN. Today, he co-leads the company with Eric Schirding, driving growth and innovation.   

Josh's passion for specialty coffee, developed during his time at Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Chicago and Milstead & Co. in Seattle, initially led him to specialize in risk management for the coffee industry—an expertise that has since expanded across multiple sectors. With a strong background in athletics and deep connections in various industries, he brings dynamic leadership and strategic vision to UWIB’s continued success.   

Outside of work, Josh is married and a devoted father of three. He is an avid hunter who enjoys the outdoors and the challenges of the sport. His love for family, adventure, and competition fuels his commitment to building strong relationships, both personally and professionally.
